The residents of Ogun State who commute to work in Lagos will not be permitted to leave the state, as announced by the Ogun State government, as lockdown restrictions ease beginning May 4.

With the easing of the lockdown in Lagos, FCT, and Ogun State set to commence on Monday, May 4, the Ogun State government has made it clear that residents working in Lagos will be prevented from traveling to the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Some employees residing in Ogun State but working in Lagos have already started preparing to return to work on Monday, following the directive of the Presidential Task Force on COVID19 for government and private offices to resume activities under strict guidelines after a month of lockdown.

It is important to recall that, when President Buhari announced the easing of the lockdown effective May 4, he emphasized that interstate travel would continue to be prohibited.
