Ogun pilgrims receive praise, advice from NAHCON

As the activities for Hajj 2024 gradually come to a close for about 1.5 million pilgrims from across the world, the Commissioner of Operations, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Prince Anofi Elegushi, has congratulated pilgrims from Ogun State on the successful completion of the 2024 Hajj rites.

Elegushi, according to a statement on Tuesday, expressed this felicitation during a brief visit to the Mina tent of Ogun pilgrims,.

The Hajj Commissioner acknowledged the dedication and spiritual commitment demonstrated by Ogun pilgrims throughout the sacred journey, emphasizing that their perseverance and devotion were truly commendable.

He admonished the pilgrims to avoid any actions that might invalidate their Hajj before Allah, stressing the importance of maintaining purity in their deeds and intentions to ensure that their pilgrimage remains accepted and blessed.

“This is a time to reflect on the lessons learned and to carry forward the spiritual upliftment gained during Hajj. Your prayers are powerful and necessary for the continued peace and progress of our nation. Let the purity and devotion you have shown during Hajj be a beacon in your everyday life,” he advised.

In response, the Chairman of the Ad-Hoc Committee for Hajj 2024 in Ogun State, Sheikh Hussein Kehinde Lawal, expressed deep gratitude for the continuous support and leadership provided by NAHCON.

He assured that the state, through the Ad-Hoc Committee, would continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and dedication to ensure all pilgrims adhere to the principles and values of Hajj.

Governor Dapo Abiodun was commended for his support to the pilgrims during the hajj, especially in the area of welfare, where the state government provided 100 US Dollars to each of the 934 pilgrims from Ogun State to cater for the shortfalls in their travel allowance as a result of the foreign exchange differentials.
