Ogun Governor Applauds Youths for Peaceful Protest

During the initial day of the anti-hunger protest, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun commended the youths and students in the state for maintaining peace and order.

Abiodun praised the peaceful protest as a demonstration of their dedication to justice, unity, and societal improvement.

Reports indicated that the protest activities were contained within four locations in the state: MKO Stadium in Abeokuta, Ansar-ud-Deen Comprehensive High School in Ota, Remo Divisional High School in Sagamu, and Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu-Ode.

Security personnel were stationed at these protest venues to secure the locations and prevent any disruptions or disorder.

In his remarks, Abiodun expressed gratitude, saying, “I want to sincerely thank our dynamic youths, devoted students, and all the residents of Ogun State for the admirable conduct displayed during today’s protest. Your peaceful engagement underscores your dedication to justice, unity, and the enhancement of our society.

“I applaud each one of you for your discipline and determination in ensuring that the protest proceeded peacefully. Your ability to uphold your beliefs while maintaining order and respect is praiseworthy. It reflects the maturity and responsibility exhibited by our youth.

“I am especially thankful that you resisted any attempts by troublemakers or disruptive elements to disrupt your peaceful protest. This not only demonstrates your unity but also showcases your character strength. You have delivered a strong message that our voices can be heard without resorting to violence or chaos,” he emphasized.

Unlike Ogun State, regions such as Kano, Abuja, Nasarawa, and Yobe experienced violence, resulting in casualties and property damage.
