NSCDC Female Strike Force Inauguration Female Strike Force for School Protection in FCT Inaugurated by NSCDC

An initiative by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has led to the inauguration of a female strike force dedicated to safeguarding schools in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Announcing this development was the FCT NSCDC Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, through a statement released on Thursday by Samuel Idoko, the Command’s spokesperson.

Following a three-day training program to equip the members with essential skills and capabilities, Odumosu emphasized the significance of the initiative in ensuring the security of students and staff.

Regular patrols, surveillance, and security awareness programs were highlighted as crucial measures to deter threats and attacks on educational institutions.

In addition, Odumosu encouraged schools in the FCT to enroll with the National Safe School Response Coordination Centre, NSSRCC, to enhance coordination and expedite responses to security issues.

“Our priority is to once again make schools safe environments for children,” he remarked.

NSCDC’s General Commandant, Ahmed Audi, acknowledged the necessity of the training to comply with the directive aimed at securing schools and eradicating cases of abductions in educational settings.

“The aim is to put an end to abductions in schools. This training is pivotal for achieving compliance with the directive on school security for the well-being of students and staff,” Audi emphasized.

“Restoring public trust in NSCDC’s capability to protect schools in the FCT is essential,” he added.
