NSCDC Commandant in Osun State vows to tackle indiscipline

Dr Adaralewa Micheal Akintayo, the newly appointed Osun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has announced a crackdown on indiscipline within the state.

Akintayo also issued a stern warning, stating that any officers who tarnish the image of the corps will face consequences in line with existing regulations.

During his inaugural meeting with senior officers, area commanders, and divisional officers across the State Command on Friday, the Osun NSCDC Commandant conveyed this message, as confirmed in a statement by Command spokesperson, Adeleke Kehinde.

Emphasizing that unethical behavior will not be tolerated under any circumstance, Akintayo stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and respecting human rights.

He expressed his zero tolerance for insubordination towards superiors and the general public, urging officers to align with the agenda of repositioning the corps set by the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, in order to fulfill its mandates.

Furthermore, he urged officers not to misuse their uniforms or firearms to intimidate the public, emphasizing the importance of maintaining decorum and never infringing on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians, even under extreme provocation.

The Osun NSCDC boss charged personnel to maintain firm control over their respective jurisdictions, emphasizing the need for diligence and intensifying their supervisory roles. He assured them of providing strong leadership to aid in the successful execution of their duties and urged the public to provide timely information to aid in curbing crime.
