NPFL: Bayelsa United promises improved outing next season


Bayelsa United have set sights on an improved campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, next season.

The chairman of the club, Ebiki TimiTimi made this known in a statement to the supporters.

Timitimi acknowledged the support of the fans in the club’s fight against relegation.

Bayelsa United escaped relegation on the final day of the campaign following an 2-0 win over Bendel Insurance.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to each and everyone of you for your unflinching support throughout the season. Your dedication, passion, time and energy was the reason behind our sustenance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL),” Timitimi stated in a statement released by the club.

“Our appreciation also goes to the Bayelsa State government led by his His Excellency Senator Douye Diri our direct supervisor His Excellency Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo the deputy governor of Bayelsa State, commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Daniel Igali, Sir, Dr Peter Singabele, the media and other stakeholders for their unwavering support to the team.

“Last Sunday’s support in Benin City, Edo State against Bendel Insurance was indicative of the unrelenting support to the team. As a club we are happy to see Bayelsans who travelled all the way to Benin to support the team despite the distance the support means a lot to us.

“Though the season was uneven, we can never forget the God factor who safeguarded us throughout the season without any form of attack and accident on the road, we have faced challenges together and we overcame all obstacles on our way together.

“Your prayers, loyalty, enthusiasm and sacrifices to the club was unfathomable to the team in sustaining the NPFL. Our target next season is to have a productive NPFL campaign, and we believe that with your support we are hopeful of a smooth 2024/2025 season.”
