NPC Concludes Demographic Health Survey in 10 Kaduna LGAs

The 2023-2024 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS) has been completed by the National Population Commission (NPC) in 10 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State, as confirmed by the State Director of the commission, Adama Othman, during an interview with newsmen on Monday in Kaduna.

She emphasized that the survey aims to offer current information on various health issues such as fertility, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, adult and child mortality, domestic violence, breast cancer, tuberculosis, and others.

The covered LGAs include Kubau, Zaria, Kauru, Sabon Gari, Kudan, Makarfi, Giwa, Ikara, Soba, and Lere. Othman also mentioned that Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, and Chikun are among the local governments yet to be visited.

Addressing security concerns in Giwa LGA, Othman stated that a cluster from that area was abandoned. She further indicated that data was collected from 14 clusters out of the 43 selected.
