North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un Announces End of Nuclear Test Moratorium

Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has declared that his country will no longer adhere to the self-imposed moratorium on testing nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles.

In addition, Kim stated that the world will soon witness the unveiling of a new strategic weapon, as reported by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency.

For over two years, North Korea has refrained from conducting long-range missile tests or nuclear tests after Kim announced the moratorium, hoping that negotiations with the United States and his relationship with President Trump would lead to the lifting of sanctions.

However, North Korea had set a deadline of December 31st for the United States to make concessions, expressing dissatisfaction with the limited results following 18 months of diplomacy with President Trump.

During a party meeting on Tuesday, Kim stated that his country would take “shocking actual action” to make the United States “pay for the pains sustained by our people,” as reported by the North Korean news agency.
