NNPP Urges Tinubu to Alleviate Nigerians’ Suffering Amid Fuel Scarcity

A message from the South West branch of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) is calling on the administration headed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and relieve Nigerians of the hardships they currently face due to the fuel scarcity crisis.

In a statement issued by the party’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Kilamuwaye Badmus, the plea was sent out to the government to take immediate action to address the ongoing challenges being experienced by citizens across the country.

Reports indicate that various cities and towns nationwide are grappling with a shortage of petroleum products, notably Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

Highlighting the severity of the situation, NNPP emphasized that many Nigerians are enduring significant difficulties attributable to the scarcity of fuel, prompting an urgent call for Tinubu to step in.

“With the evident failure of the planned fuel subsidy removal, it is imperative for the APC-led government to promptly reassess its policies. The populace has been subjected to immense suffering in recent days due to the scarcity of petroleum products in the nation,” the statement reads.

“Scanty fuel stations that are operational are charging exorbitant prices. Should one manage to secure commercial transportation, they must be prepared to pay rates exceeding their pre-planned budgets.

“The present circumstances expose the insignificance of the fuel subsidy elimination under the Tinubu-led government, portraying it as an unsuccessful and deceptive scheme necessitating an immediate policy review.

“This distress, combined with escalating food prices, has cornered average Nigerians. The federal government under the APC’s leadership needs to brainstorm and provide relief from this anguish,” the statement further stated.
