NLC Protest Commences with Huge Turnout in Abuja Amidst Economic Hardship [PHOTOS]

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has kicked off a nationwide protest in Abuja on February 27 and 28 to address the escalating cost of living in the country.

In response to the hardship faced by civil servants in Nigeria, the NLC had earlier notified its members across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, about the protest.

This move came after the NLC and the Trade Union Congress, on February 8, issued a 14-day nationwide strike notice to the Federal Government due to the failure to implement agreements reached on October 2 following the removal of fuel subsidy.

In light of the enduring economic challenges being experienced by Nigerians, the union opted for a two-day nationwide protest to push forward their demands.

Despite security warnings from the Department of State Services, DSS, the union proceeded with the protest in various cities nationwide.

On Tuesday, a significant number of concerned citizens and workers flocked to the Labour House in the early hours, accompanied by security personnel.
