The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Comptroller-General, Bashir Adeniyi, has presented the service’s vision to enhance service delivery and facilitate business operations in the country to diplomats.

During a gathering with the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassadors from the United States and Germany, as well as representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes and the World Bank in Abuja, CG Adeniyi underscored the NCS’s commitment to harnessing new technological advancements.

He outlined initiatives such as widespread scanner installation, data analytics implementation, and the adoption of open-door policies to foster collaboration with stakeholders, ultimately streamlining trade in the country.

Furthermore, he highlighted plans to involve Area Controllers from various formations to ensure a comprehensive grasp of the Customs Act.

Addressing the gathering, he stated, “Now that we have a new government and I assumed office in the middle of this year, we have a lot of ground to cover in explaining our operations to all these stakeholders. We are responsible for mass sensitizing awareness of the Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023.”
