Police in India have apprehended a 35-year-old Nigerian man named Vitalis Okolie for allegedly trafficking 55 grams of prohibited substances.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, July 27, Mumbai Anti Narcotics Cell Senior Inspector, NB Kolhatkar, revealed that acting on a tip-off, a sting operation was conducted near a fast food establishment in Kalamboli on Saturday evening, July 25.
Reportedly, Vitalis fell into the trap and was caught with 55 grams of methaqualone, a sedative-hypnotic drug.
Okolie, who resides in Santacruz in neighboring Mumbai, has been charged under the NDPS Act and has been placed in police custody.
