Nigerian Driver Returns Over N1.2m Passenger Left in His Car in Abuja, Says He Didn’t Get Reward

Returning over $3000 (N1,247,520) a lady forgot in his car, Emmanuel Christopher, a young Nigerian man serving as a taxi driver, displayed an act of kindness.

Lara Wise, who shared the story on Facebook, described Emmanuel as a committed choir member in her church.

Emmanuel realized that a female passenger had left a fat wallet in the back seat after he dropped her in the federal capital. Upon inspection of the purse, he found wads of dollar bills, different foreign currencies amounting to over $3000 (N1,247,520), three ATM cards, and three international passports.

When asked about the encounter and the temptation to take the money, he said, “My mind spoke to me and I spoke back to my mind.”

Despite returning the money and valuables, the lady did not reward Emmanuel. However, he expressed feeling at peace with his actions. His wife, Favour Oluebube Christopher, reacted by expressing pride and love for his integrity.
