Nigeria Customs’ Initiative to Prohibit Okrika Clothes and Its Justification

Plans have been unveiled by the Nigeria Customs Service to prohibit the sale of Okrika clothing in the country.

As per a recent assertion by a Customs Service representative, the trading of Okrika clothing is deemed detrimental to the nation at large.

His statement is as follows:

“Okrika clothes pose a threat to the nation’s health. This is why the government has deemed it necessary to enforce a ban.

“There should be a sense of concern. The origin and previous users of these clothes are unknown. Furthermore, smugglers are eager to transform Nigeria into a dumping ground. We should not tolerate it.

“Our country is abundantly blessed with both human and natural resources. Why should someone opt to import used products?”

In response to the video,

tonia.gram remarked: “Let the poor breathe. Don’t suffocate us.”

Babajideedges expressed: “I’m certain that the same individual who caused a stir about my cherished ponmo is behind this. Don’t worry guys, they failed with ponmo, they will fail with this as well.

An insensitive group that advocates for a 30k minimum wage but is here endorsing national discrimination. A futile misuse of priority!”

Brandy_ish commented: “These people are detached from the real struggles of the populace. This is how the extremely impoverished manage to acquire clothing. How are we blessed with such unaware leaders? Until they widen the gap between the affluent and the destitute, they won’t let up. God, please save this country because I am utterly baffled.”
