Nigeria-born striker leaves Arsenal despite discussions with Arteta

Confirming his departure from Arsenal, Nigeria-born striker Chido Obi-Martin expressed his decision in an Instagram post on Monday.

In the post, he can be seen in the club’s iconic red and white kit with the caption: “Arsenal, thank you”.

Last season, the 16-year-old impressed by scoring five hat-tricks in the final nine matches of the Under-18 Premier League. Notably, he scored seven goals in a game against Norwich and five against West Ham in a match where Arsenal won 8-1.

Despite discussions with manager Mikel Arteta, Obi-Martin has chosen to leave Arsenal as his contract expires.

The young talent, who plays for Denmark U17 and has represented the U18s regularly, is now rumored to be a target for clubs like Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
