Neymar Enters Into 2-year Agreement With Barcelona On Personal Terms

According to Jose Alvarez on El Chiringuito TV, it is reported that Brazilian international Neymar has reached a consensus with Barcelona in the current transfer window. The two sides have reached an accord on a two-year agreement worth €13 million per annum.

Neymar’s potential move to Barcelona depends on his ability to persuade Paris Saint-Germain to terminate his contract.

Neymar has had a mystifying career thus far. While he has demonstrated his ability to be the unquestionable top player in the world, personal issues and fitness concerns have been obstacles for him. Although these were not problems during his time at Barcelona, they have arisen since he joined Paris Saint-Germain.

In a record-breaking deal worth €222 million, the 31-year-old moved to Parc des Princes. However, despite his prolific performances for PSG, he has not fully justified the massive investment. Nevertheless, Neymar’s performance levels have remained consistently high, as evidenced by his 35 goal contributions in just 29 matches last season.

The experienced forward scored 18 goals and provided 17 assists. Yet, the Brazilian attacker does not feature in Luis Enrique’s plans, and PSG is keen to sell him as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Neymar’s situation has caught the attention of his former club, Barcelona.

Initially, a deal for the 31-year-old seemed unlikely as Xavi Hernandez was hesitant to approve a transfer. However, Joan Laporta’s persistence in securing Neymar’s services has eventually convinced the manager. Recent reports suggest that Barcelona will make a concerted effort to re-sign him.

A summer transfer now appears to be imminent, with Neymar agreeing to a two-year contract with Barcelona. However, it seems he will accept a lower salary of €13 million per year. Nevertheless, the agreement is not yet finalized as Barcelona awaits Neymar’s termination of his PSG contract.

In addition, the Catalan giants will need to offload several players before bringing their primary target back to the club. Meanwhile, Barcelona will have the option to extend Neymar’s contract for an additional year in 2025. It remains to be seen if this reunion will come to fruition.
