Amaechi Muonagor, a well-known Nollywood actor, has been reported to have passed away, according to Morris Monye, a prominent social media influencer and chairman of Delta State Sports Association. Monye shared the sad news on his official X handle on Sunday.

The news of Muonagor’s demise has left many deeply saddened, including Monye who expressed his sorrow, praising the late actor’s skillful performances on screen. He also highlighted the challenges Muonagor faced with his health and the efforts made to help him receive treatment in India.

On the other hand, the Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has not yet responded to inquiries made by NewsNow regarding this development.

Just a week ago, the 61-year-old actor made a plea for financial assistance for a kidney transplant in a distressing video. Confirming his battle with kidney disease on November 27, 2023, Muonagor’s relative, Tony ‘Oneweek’ Muonagor, had reached out for support.

Throughout his career, Muonagor appeared in numerous films, with one of his most renowned roles being in “Aki and Paw Paw,” where he portrayed the father of two mischievous teenagers. Regrettably, Muonagor’s demise comes shortly after the passing of another Nollywood icon, Mr Ibu (John Okafor), on March 2, 2024.
