New Initiative by Fintech Companies to Boost Financial Inclusion in Jigawa State

Aiming to extend financial services to more than 100,000 unbanked individuals in Jigawa State, Nigerian fintech firm Fintava and Kano-based agent network Bizipay have introduced a collaborative effort.

The primary goal of this partnership, as per a recent announcement, is to narrow the gap in financial inclusion within the state by utilizing Bizipay’s widespread agent network to deliver banking services to those without access.

As part of the initiative, Fintava will furnish customized Point of Sale systems and ATM cards to enable beneficiaries to utilize essential goods and services from designated shops throughout the state.

This move aligns with the establishment of cashless palliative shops in Jigawa State, a venture kickstarted by Vice President Kashim Shettima, according to the fintech provider.

The collaboration is anticipated to have a significant impact on enhancing financial inclusion, fostering economic growth, and driving social development in the area.

Founder of Bizipay, Dr. Aminu Bizi, praised the partnership, acknowledging Fintava’s financial technology for its user-friendly interface, simplicity, and adaptability.

Fintava’s relentless pursuit of empowering individuals through financial technology is gaining traction, with this collaboration marking a notable milestone in the company’s journey.

By introducing cutting-edge financial services to the residents of Jigawa State, Fintava not only enhances their access to essential commodities but also contributes towards the broader objective of financial inclusion across Nigeria.

Samuel Ojerinde, the Chief Operating Officer at Fintava, expressed excitement about the project, stating, “Our initiative to include 100,000 individuals in Jigawa State financially solidifies our position as a key player in Nigeria’s fintech sector.

“Our partnership with Bizipay underscores our dedication to driving financial inclusion and delivering accessible banking solutions to underserved communities.”

In a recent update, Fintava disclosed its efforts to broaden access to financial services in the country through its innovative banking-as-a-service technology, with a focus on promoting financial inclusion for underserved populations.

Through its BaaS model, Fintava enables non-bank entities to seamlessly integrate financial services into their offerings using APIs, thereby facilitating services like branded credit cards, payment processing, and savings accounts without the need to operate as full-fledged banks.
