New Healthcare Service Launched by UK-Based Nigerians

In the United Kingdom, three Nigerian students have introduced a startup aimed at providing healthcare services to the elderly.

The startup’s founder, Damilola Olaopa, along with his two co-founders, Hameed Abdulrahaman and Samuel Isatayo, are pursuing Master’s degrees in the UK.

On Thursday, a statement released to NewsNow revealed that Olaopa came up with the concept following a tragic incident where a colleague, who worked as a healthcare assistant, lost his father on October 1, 2023.

Damilola mentioned ongoing plans to expand the startup’s reach across Europe and into other countries such as the US and Canada.

“At present, the startup focuses on Nigerians living abroad, particularly in the UK. Our current registration is in the UK. Sandfortcare Limited is a privately owned company incorporated under the 2006 Companies Act and is registered in Scotland,” he revealed.

Abdulrahaman elaborated, “Sandfortcare is a healthcare startup committed to providing personalized and compassionate healthcare and support services to Nigerian parents residing in the UK. The startup ensures that parents in Nigeria receive top-quality care customized to their specific requirements, giving their children in the UK peace of mind about their parents’ well-being.

Furthermore, Isatayo added that, for a monthly subscription fee, parents in Nigeria would benefit from personalized care and support plans, regular health assessments, nutritional and meal planning, remote consultations, and medication management. Meanwhile, the sponsoring family member in the UK would receive timely updates on the parents’ well-being.
