New FRSC sector commander takes over in Gombe


Gombe Welcomes New FRSC Sector Commander

Samson Kaura assumed the role of Sector Commander in Gombe State on Monday, following the transfer of the previous commander, Felix Theman, to the Corps National Headquarters in Abuja.

Having been appointed on July 21, 2024, Kaura is tasked with leading the FRSC operations in Gombe.

Originally from Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State, Nigeria, Kaura holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Prior to his current role, Kaura served as the Zonal Head of Operations in the Bauchi Zonal Command, Bauchi State. He also held the position of Corps Commander for Youth Safety Education at the Training Department of the Corps National Headquarters in Abuja.

In his remarks upon assuming office, Kaura expressed gratitude to the people of Gombe for their warm reception, acknowledging the support of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for creating a peaceful environment, which he described as a “Jewel in the Savannah.”

Kaura urged residents to collaborate with him in making the roads safer for motorists and striving towards reducing road traffic accidents to zero percent.

Calling for enhanced collaboration with other security agencies to achieve the strategic goals of the Corps, Kaura emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive working relationships already established with stakeholders.
