New Development: Philip Shaibu, Deputy Governor of Edo State, Back in Office

Following his reinstatement, Philip Shaibu, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, has officially resumed his duties and has instructed his team to do the same.

In a recent video broadcast on X.com, Shaibu made a public announcement stating, “I am officially back in office in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. May Edo State and Nigeria be blessed.”

In his address, Shaibu specifically called on staff members who have not returned to work since his reinstatement to promptly do so or face consequences. He emphasized that the Federal High Court ruling that reinstated him meant that his position was never left vacant.

Shaibu cautioned banks against engaging in any transactions related to his office without his prior approval, citing the act as unlawful.

Expressing regret over the recent killing of a police officer assigned to the Edo APC governorship candidate that occurred when he returned to the state, Shaibu highlighted that the suspects responsible have been apprehended.

Furthermore, Shaibu disclosed that he has formally requested the authorization of the state governor to reinstate his aides; however, he is still awaiting a response.
