The Netherlands coach, Ronald Koeman, has undergone a heart procedure after being rushed to the hospital with chest pain. The Dutch football association, the KNVB, confirmed that Koeman underwent a “successful cardiac catheterisation” and is expected to be released from the hospital on Monday.

In a statement, the KNVB expressed their well wishes for Koeman’s recovery, stating, “We wish Ronald a lot of strength and improvement.” A tweet from the KNVB also conveyed shock at the situation but expressed relief that Koeman’s condition was improving.

Koeman’s business manager, Rob Jansen, revealed that the former footballer had been hospitalized after experiencing chest pain following a bike ride. Koeman’s wife, Bartina, disclosed to De Telegraaf newspaper that he was taken to the hospital by ambulance after feeling unwell at home. She also expressed gratitude for the swift medical intervention that stabilized his condition.

A former international defender, Koeman achieved success as a player and later managed in the Premier League with Everton and Southampton before taking charge of the Netherlands.
