Ndukwe, a former presidential candidate, announces departure from PDP

Having once aspired for the presidency under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Cosmos Ndukwe has officially severed ties with the party.

In a letter sent to the PDP Item C Ward Chairman in Bende LGA, Abia State, and shared with the state and national party heads, Ndukwe cited personal contemplation and career goals as the driving forces behind his decision.

Expressing his rationale, Ndukwe stated, “After thorough reflection, I have concluded that exiting the PDP is the most appropriate step for me at this juncture.”

The former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly conveyed his deep appreciation to the PDP’s leadership for the various opportunities he had to serve in different capacities.

“I wish to convey my gratitude to you, the ward executive committee, and all PDP members in Abia state for the unwavering support and companionship I have enjoyed during my time with the party,” he remarked.

While stepping back from his formal role, Ndukwe affirmed his dedication to democratic principles and the advancement of Abia State, saying, “Although I am relinquishing my official responsibilities, my commitment to democracy and the development of our beloved state, Abia, remains resolute.”
