NDDC revokes contracts, asks contractors for refund

The announcement from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) indicated that contracts awarded before December 31, 2019 were being revoked if the contractors had not moved to the site. The Presidency ordered the cancellation of these projects following recommendations from a recent forensic audit report on the NDDC, as pointed out by NDDC’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Dr Ibitoye Abosede on Sunday, May 22. Abosede further clarified that the cancellation was subject to potential re-awarding in compliance with the Public Procurement Act. Affected contractors were directed to refund the monies to the commission’s account with the CBN.

In their statement, the NDDC advised all affected contractors to promptly refund all monies earlier received as mobilization for the projects to the commission’s account with the CBN. This implementation of the forensic audit report is also in line with the terms of the contracts for the award of the projects.
