Exploring the Establishment of an Information Access Centre in Nigeria: NCC Meets with South Korea

In a collaborative effort, a delegation from South Korea recently engaged in discussions with the management team of the Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC.

The primary aim of the meeting was to explore various opportunities for setting up an Information Access Centre, IAC, in Nigeria.

This proposed IAC is expected to play a pivotal role in fostering the development of essential knowledge and tools, particularly within the communications sector, to drive innovation and growth in Nigeria’s digital industry.

During the deliberations on this initiative, both parties shared insights on effective strategies and best practices for the successful implementation of the Information Access Centre, IAC.

The South Korean delegation, led by Mr. Un Jong JI, the Executive Principal of the Department of Global ICT Cooperation/Global ICT Project Team, commended NCC’s commitment to enhancing transparency and access within the telecommunications realm. They also expressed their readiness to aid in the establishment of the IAC.

Through this collaborative endeavor, the stakeholders are aiming to significantly enhance the dissemination and accessibility of information, thereby making a positive impact on the advancement and progress of Nigeria’s telecommunications sector.
