NCAA Provides Clarity on Arik Air Operations Status

In response to recent developments, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has issued a statement to address the status of Arik Air’s flight operations. Contrary to rumors, the airline’s flights are proceeding as scheduled, and its operational capacity remains intact.

This clarification was conveyed by Mr. Michael Achimugu, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at NCAA, in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.

Mr. Achimugu highlighted the authority’s obligation to adhere to a court order pertaining to the attachment of Arik Air’s aircraft (5NMJF, 5NMJQ, 5NBKX) subsequent to the resolution of its legal case at the Supreme Court, underscoring the importance of regulatory and safety compliance.

Regarding the grounding of three Arik Air planes due to a court order, the NCAA emphasized that this action does not entail a suspension of the airline’s overall operations by either the authority or the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, contrary to certain speculations.

The statement expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation and understanding as Arik Air manages the situation with minimal disruptions.
