National Museum Lagos: Over 32,000 Visitors in 2024, Commission Reports

32,369 visitors have been welcomed by the National Museum, Lagos, in the first half of 2024, as per the recent announcement.

In Lagos, the Head of the Department of Educational Services and Training at the museum, Oloruntosin Olanrewaju, revealed this information to journalists.

Olanrewaju highlighted that this figure marks a notable increase compared to the 17,442 visitors who visited during the same period in 2023.

Among the visitors were foreigners, children, and individuals across various age brackets.

“In the first half of the year, we have drawn a significant number of tourists to the museum, totaling 32,369 visitors. Our aim is to exceed this number in the latter half of the year.

“We are witnessing an increasing number of students and pupils visiting from various schools to enhance their learning. Additionally, individuals come to conduct research,” he stated.

Olanrewaju encouraged Nigerians, particularly residents of Lagos, to explore the museum, emphasizing that it houses artifacts, antiques, monoliths, and other items of immense cultural and historical importance.
