MTF alumnus, Abisola Aboaba, to intern at New York Film Academy

An alumnus of the MultiChoice Talent Factory, Abisola Aboaba, has gained admission to study at the prestigious New York Film Academy’s four-week filmmaking programme. Aboaba will join other talents from across the globe for the filmmaking programme, which will hold in Florence, Italy.

According to Aboaba’s admission letter signed by the academy’s president, Michael Young, Aboaba will take on projects and receive hands-on training in filmmaking from experts in the highly creative enthronement for four weeks.

Commenting on the admission, MultiChoice West Africa Academy Director, Atinuke Babatunde, said “We are delighted that another MTF graduate will be having this career-boosting experience at a renowned institution such as the New York Film Academy. NYFA provides African creatives with a global platform for skills sharing and exposure to best practices. We hope that he will maximise this unique opportunity to further hone his skills to tell more authentic African stories.”

Since its inception in 2018, the MTF has produced more than 300 alumni through its academies in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

The best-performing student of each set receive eight-week scholarships to the NYFA, while the second and third-best students get sponsored internships at a local film and TV production company in South Africa, and at Bollywood with Zee World.
