Mrs Walson-Jack Assumes Role as Head of Civil Service in Nigeria

Officially taking the reins as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF) is Mrs Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

On Tuesday, she succeeded Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan and expressed her dedication to expediting reforms in the service.

The transition ceremony occurred at the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on Tuesday, which coincided with Yemi-Esan’s retirement date.

Grateful for reaching the peak of her career, Mrs Walson-Jack attributed her success to God Almighty in her acceptance speech.

She also extended gratitude towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting her to serve the nation. She vowed to uphold the achievements of her predecessors by advancing ongoing reform efforts in the service.

In driving transformation within the service, she emphasized the importance of adopting technology. Mrs. Walson-Jack pledged to adhere to and promote the core service principles of Accountability, Meritocracy, Professionalism, Loyalty, and Efficiency (AMPLE) in all endeavors.

She urged all stakeholders and civil servants to rally behind the service’s vision and mission in support of the current administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Prior to the FEC meeting on Monday, August 12, 2024, President Tinubu administered the oath of office to the new HoSF. During the ceremony, he urged her to uphold integrity and transparency in her service to the nation.

Notably, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, the new HoSF, is the acclaimed author of the novel ‘Roses in the Thorns’ and enjoys a fulfilling family life with children.
