Mother and her two daughters burnt to death in Jigawa

A devastating fire incident has resulted in the loss of a 30-year-old woman, Khadija Ibrahim, and her two daughters in Tsangarwa village, Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

Confirming the tragedy, Adamu Shehu, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Jigawa State, released a statement revealing that the incident occurred around 11pm on Friday, as fire engulfed their hut while they were asleep.

“The fire engulfed a hut, where the 30-year-old Khadija Ibrahim was sleeping alongside her two daughters, four-year-old Aisha Ibrahim and two-year-old Rabi Ibrahim.”

Unfortunately, neither the mother nor her two daughters survived the blaze.

Shehu mentioned that the cause of the fire is currently unknown, but neighbors speculate that it may have been related to a charcoal fire intended for warmth.

The remains of the victims have been deposited at a nearby hospital.
