When Nollywood actress Monalisa Chinda looks back at her marriage to Dejo Richards, which ended in 2009 due to domestic violence and other issues, she sees it as marrying the wrong man at the right time.
Reflecting on that period in an interview with The Sun, Monalisa admitted that she was young and naive when she tied the knot with her ex-husband. After the breakup, Monalisa focused on moving forward, stating that she “dusted the dirt off her body and moved on.”
Asked if she views her first marriage as a mistake, Monalisa responded with:
No, I don’t see it as a mistake. I was just young and naive. I met the wrong person at the right time. The person was wrong for me, so what I did was to dust the dirt off my body and move on.
