Mikel’s Advice to Ten Hag: Drop Man Utd Star for Zirkzee

Former Chelsea player John Mikel Obi has suggested that Manchester United’s coach Erik ten Hag should consider benching Mason Mount in favor of Joshua Zirkzee for their upcoming match against Brighton.

Mount was in the starting lineup for Man United in their recent Community Shield loss to Manchester City and also played in their 1-0 victory over Fulham on Friday.

Zirkzee replaced Mount in the game against Fulham and scored the winning goal in the 87th minute.

During his commentary on beIN Sports, Mikel recommended that Zirkzee should start in the next match instead of Mount.

Expressing his thoughts, Mikel mentioned, “He found the net and put in a decent performance when he came on.”

“In my opinion, he should get the nod to start against Brighton. I’ve been saying that Mason Mount needs to step up his game this season, and once again, he didn’t deliver today. So, maybe it’s time to start Joshua and push Bruno Fernandes back a bit. It’s crucial to see Manchester United playing with a top striker.”
