Mikel Arteta’s Predictions on Manchester City Possibly Dropping Points in the Title Race Against Arsenal

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, remains optimistic about the chances of Manchester City dropping points in the ongoing Premier League title race.

Despite City having a game in hand, Arsenal has managed to clinch three consecutive wins in the league, placing them at the top of the table with a one-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s team.

Arteta emphasizes that there are still numerous points up for grabs in the final stretch, and Arsenal can keep the pressure on City by securing a win against Bournemouth in the early kick-off on Saturday.

Putting his ‘heart and soul’ into it, Arteta expresses his hope for City to falter in their remaining fixtures against Wolves, Fulham, Tottenham, and West Ham.

The Arsenal manager underscores the importance of maintaining their current momentum by focusing on their performance, preparation, and winning the upcoming match, regardless of City’s outcomes.

He also acknowledges the need to manage emotions effectively in such high-pressure scenarios.

When asked about the likelihood of City dropping points, Arteta shares with reporters, “In my heart and soul… this is my hope, yes. You are aware of my emotions. Winning requires others to slip up, and you hope for that to occur.”

“But then, following a City victory, you must control your emotions because the result on that given day doesn’t define everything.”

“With plenty of games remaining and points on offer, it’s essential to deliver, prepare well, and secure victories in the upcoming matches to sustain our momentum. That’s our primary focus,” he explains.
