Meghan Markle’s Birthday Poem Shared Only 200 Times Despite Public Appeal

Upon turning 40 on August 4, Meghan Markle took to social media to share a birthday poem.

Despite her appeal, reports revealed that only 200 people had permanently posted the poem on Instagram within 24 hours of its release.

Meghan, now 40, marked the occasion by releasing a comedy video as part of her new initiative, 40×40.

In a statement on the Archewell website, Meghan made a request for a singular birthday gift from her fans: to share a pre-made Instagram post with the hashtags #40×40 and #CompassionInAction.

The poem’s artwork featured the phrase: “For women who give everything, we give our time. Are you in?”

The website also offered a suggested caption for those willing to share, dedicating 40 minutes of mentorship or service to a cause they care about.

The caption read: “To celebrate The Duchess of Sussex’s 40th birthday, I am devoting 40 minutes of mentorship or service to a cause I care about. Please join me in donating your time. Together, we can contribute to a global wave of compassion and positive change.”

An analysis by The Sun of Instagram posts within the first 24 hours after the video’s release found that only 217 public posts used the #40×40 hashtag to share the poem.

The analysis did not account for Twitter posts, private shares, or non-permanent Instagram stories that were set to disappear.
