Set to marry on Friday, February 7, are two serving corps members, Mohammed Alhaji-Musa and Hauwa Yahaya-Bagudu, who met almost a year ago at NYSC’s orientation camp in Kano.
Reportedly, Mohammed Alhaji Musa is from Afo in Nassarawa State, while Hauwa Yahaya Bagudu is from the Nupe ethnic group in Niger State.
Recalling the first meeting with his bride, Musa shared that they met in the NYSC orientation camp kitchen in Kano State.
Expressing his feelings, Musa said;
“We met in camp during our platoon activities, especially the day we met during our platoon duty in the kitchen. Love took hold of me like a breeze from nowhere. I was overwhelmed by her kindness and the hospitality I received the first day I went to their house.”
On her part, Hauwa revealed that she had not wanted to serve in Kano at first. However, she now sees her deployment to the state as a blessing.
A graduate of I.B.B University in Lapai, Niger State, Hauwa expressed;
“Today I thank God because my being here has turned out to be a blessing.”
The Kano state NYSC coordinator, Mal. Baba Ladan, confirmed the couple’s upcoming marriage and lauded them as role models for others.
Ladan expressed;
“I look at them as role models to other corps members who may start a relationship that will also lead to marriage.”
The wedding fatiha for the serving corps members will take place on Friday, February 7, at the Nigeria Air Force Base Central Mosque in Kano at 1:30 PM.
