Meet Isaiah Joe’s Parents: Nicole and Derrick Joe

The parents of Isaiah Joe, Nicole and Derrick, have always kept a low profile and have not been actively involved in updates about their son’s life. However, they have been a source of constant support for Isaiah, nurturing his religious beliefs as he grew up in Fort Smith, AR. Derrick Isaiah Joe, now a professional basketball player for the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder, attended Northside High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he played alongside Jaylin Williams, who is now his teammate in the pros. Joe’s outstanding performance in his junior and senior years led his team to state titles and earned him accolades such as Gatorade Arkansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

During his college basketball career at the University of Arkansas, Joe received SEC All-Freshman honors and continued to elevate his performance in subsequent seasons. Despite briefly declaring for the 2020 NBA draft, he ultimately chose to forego it and pursue his professional career. In 2020, he was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers and made his NBA debut in December of that year. Joe later signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder in October 2022.

The Supportive Role of Nicole and Derrick Joe

Nicole and Derrick Joe have always been steadfast supporters of Isaiah since his childhood. While preferring a low-key lifestyle, they take pride in Isaiah’s exceptional basketball skills. Derrick, an alumnus of Northside High School and the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering, is well-respected in his field. Currently serving as the Associate Director of IS Yield Management at ArcBest Technologies, where he previously held a leadership position, Derrick and Nicole have always backed Isaiah’s aspirations, whether it was playing for Arkansas or pursuing his NBA dreams. Isaiah was brought up in Fort Smith, Arkansas, alongside his two older brothers, Jacob and Jon.

Jacob, Isaiah’s younger brother, has been carving out a promising basketball career much like his older sibling. Jacob attended Northside High School, where he showcased his exceptional skills on the court and established himself as a talented athlete. After high school, he went on to attend Newman University, where he became a valuable member of the Jets team. In his first season with Newman, he averaged 2.2 points and 15 rebounds.

Jacob is currently a student at Newman University, where he is refining his skills and striving to achieve his goals. It seems that Jon, Isaiah’s youngest brother, is also following in the footsteps of his two older siblings.
