Media Personality Big Vic suggests Asake has surpassed Olamide in popularity

According to Big Vic, singer Asake has now become a bigger artist than veteran rapper and YBNL Nation CEO, Olamide.

During a recent episode of the ‘Ctdamongblacks’ podcast, Big Vic shared his thoughts:

“Asake currently holds a bigger position than Olamide. I am referring to the present moment, not their lifetime achievements. In terms of collaborations, connections, and sold-out shows, Asake is leading the way.”

Big Vic noted Olamide’s strategic decision to invest in Asake’s career, foreseeing the benefits of Asake’s potential success.

He expressed a concern that artists from the Southeast are not as supportive of their fellow musicians in the industry compared to their Southwest counterparts, possibly due to fears of being overshadowed.

Encouraging Igbo artists to follow the example of Yoruba musicians, Big Vic advised them to invest more in nurturing emerging talents from their region.

It is worth mentioning that Asake had previously shared that it took him around two years of persistent effort to convince Olamide to sign him to YBNL Nation.

Asake officially joined YBNL Nation in February 2022, marking the release of his debut extended play, ‘Ololade,’ which included the hit track “Omo Ope” featuring Olamide and the single “Sungba.”
