MAU Yola Celebrates Graduation of 5,492 Students with 53 First-Class Honours

During the recent 28th Convocation ceremony at Modibbo Adama University in Yola, a total of 5,545 students successfully completed their academic programs across various disciplines.

Among them, 53 students achieved first-class honors, while 1,143 attained second class upper, 2,376 secured second class lower, 682 obtained third-class, and 28 were awarded pass degrees.

University Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Tukur, shared these statistics during the event, highlighting that the graduating cohort included 5,545 candidates, comprising 458 diploma holders and 4,282 Bachelor’s degree recipients.

Furthermore, 41 graduates will receive post-graduate diplomas, 630 will be awarded Master’s degrees, and 134 will be conferred with Ph.Ds.

The ceremony honored all graduates who completed their academic programs in the 2022/2023 academic session, along with some who graduated earlier but could not participate in last year’s convocation.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, praised MAU VC Abdullahi Tukur’s successful management of university events, including convocation ceremonies, during the convocation. The Governor’s Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, represented him at the ceremony.

He commended Tukur for overseeing three convocation ceremonies throughout his five-year tenure, a feat uncommon among Vice Chancellors who often struggle to organize even one ceremony during their entire term.
