The first training session for the Golden Eaglets in Abuja on Thursday saw numerous young hopefuls being turned away.
Kicking off their preparations for the WAFU U-17 Championship at the FIFA Goal Project Pitch, the Golden Eaglets under the guidance of head coach Manu Garba are solely focused on the 51 players who received official camp invitations.
All the invited players have successfully completed the mandatory MRI test, making them eligible to participate in the WAFU tournament.
This upcoming event, slated to take place in Ghana starting May 15, holds significance as the Golden Eaglets are the reigning champions following their victory over Burkina Faso in the previous final.
The WAFU tournament serves as the qualifying competition for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
