Manchester United Won’t Secure Third Place, Carragher Asserts in Reaction to Man Utd’s 1-0 Victory over Fulham

In the aftermath of Erik ten Hag’s squad edging out Fulham with a 1-0 victory in the Premier League opener, former Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has cast doubt on Manchester United’s chances of finishing third this season.

During his appearance on Sky Sports, Carragher expressed his view that the Red Devils will face stiff competition in securing a spot in the Champions League.

The winning goal in the match was scored by summer acquisition Joshua Zirkzee in the 88th minute.

Carragher elaborated by stating, “Manchester United will not clinch third place, that’s for sure. They should expect a challenging battle against the likes of Tottenham, Villa, and Chelsea for a place in the Champions League.”
