Following Manchester United’s 1-0 victory over Fulham, former captain Gary Neville expressed his belief that the team will encounter difficulties this season.
In a discussion on Sky Sports after the Premier League opener, Neville reflected on the match where Joshua Zirkzee scored the winning goal in the 88th minute.
Despite acknowledging improvements in the squad compared to last season, Neville maintains skepticism about their performance.
He remarked, “The squad has definitely improved since the embarrassing and inconsistent displays of the previous season. There was a lack of coherence.”
Neville also noted the pivotal moment in the FA Cup final against Manchester City that altered the team’s trajectory.
He concluded, “While there have been enhancements, challenges are still expected throughout this season.”
