Manchester United Star Criticized by Darren Bent, Urged to be Benched by Erik ten Hag in EPL Clash

In the upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool, former England striker Darren Bent advises Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to consider starting Alejandro Garnacho instead of Marcus Rashford, as he believes Rashford’s performance for Ten Hag’s team has been lacking recently.

Manchester United will be facing their arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford this Sunday, following a 2-1 defeat against Brighton in their previous match.

Bent expressed his opinion during a talkSPORT discussion, stating, “Garnacho has got to start [against Liverpool]. If that means dropping Marcus Rashford then so be it. He has to start. I would play Garnacho, [Amad] Diallo, and [Joshua] Zirkzee as the front three.”

Regarding Rashford, Bent mentioned, “Erik ten Hag can only protect Rashford for so long. He’s giving him every opportunity to succeed even though he’s not been playing well for a while.”

Highlighting Garnacho’s impact, Bent praised his performance in previous games, saying, “Garnacho changed the game in the Community Shield final, he was incredible. The energy against Fulham was great. He had a goal against Brighton that was unfortunately ruled out for offside.”
