Manchester United drops interest in Ugarte

According to reports from The Athletic, Manchester United has decided to end their pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte in their quest for a new midfielder.

The Premier League outfit will now shift their focus onto alternative transfer prospects.

Sources suggest that United has no plans to meet PSG’s valuation for the Uruguayan midfielder.

PSG is holding out for a fee close to the £51.4m (€60m) they shelled out to acquire Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

Reports indicate that the two clubs remain significantly apart in their respective evaluations of the 23-year-old player, and negotiations will only resume if PSG revises their demands. However, there has been no notable progress on this front so far.
