Man City Penalized by Premier League for 22 Rule Violations

Manchester City has been fined £2 million by the Premier League for repeatedly failing to adhere to kick-off and restart regulations.

Over the course of the last two seasons, City delayed the start or restart of matches on 22 occasions.

During these seasons, Pep Guardiola’s team clinched the title, finishing ahead of Arsenal.

A statement from the Premier League reports, “The Premier League and Manchester City FC have reached an agreement on sanctions following the club’s acknowledgment of violations of Premier League Rule L.33 regarding kick-off and restart responsibilities.”

These violations occurred during several Premier League matches in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
