Macaroni explains why he feels Wizkid disrespected Don Jazzy

Adebowale Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, a comedian and actor, revealed why he believes Wizkid showed disrespect towards Don Jazzy, the boss of Mavin Records, by referring to him as an ‘influencer’.

Macaroni shared his thoughts during a recent live show on Wazobia TV in Lagos.

He argued that while Don Jazzy is indeed an influencer, possibly the most significant one in the African entertainment industry, the manner in which Wizkid portrayed him was disrespectful.

Macaroni emphasized that Don Jazzy is not just an ordinary influencer, noting the impact he had on the music industry when he introduced artists like Ricardo Banks, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Di’ja, and others.

According to Macaroni, “Don Jazzy is a massive influencer in the entertainment industry, from music to film. His influence is undeniable and speaks volumes.

“His impact is undeniable. Wizkid’s comments, though a bit disrespectful in context, cannot negate Don Jazzy’s influence.

“Considering his work with artists like D’banj, Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, and others, up to his contributions to Mavin Records with artists like Ricardo Banks, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Di’ja, and the new generation, it’s evident that Don Jazzy is a significant figure in shaping the music industry.”

Macaroni pointed out that any discussion about shaping the music industry must include Don Jazzy due to his immense success and impact.

The comedian praised Don Jazzy as a champion and a great influencer whose contributions have been pivotal in the growth of the music industry.

“Don Jazzy is not just an influencer for music; he extends his influence to content and films. Having Don Jazzy as a collaborator can elevate your work, regardless of your follower count. His acceptance can expose your content to millions of followers.

“The way Wizkid phrased it when he said ‘I can’t chat with an influencer,’ that context came off as disrespectful,” Macaroni added.

In a previous report by PUNCH Online, Wizkid faced backlash from celebrities for his mocking remarks towards Davido and Don Jazzy.

Wizkid’s tweets on Monday, where he made fun of Davido and Don Jazzy, stirred a social media frenzy.

As a result of the controversy, Wizkid’s name began trending. He reached number 4 on Nigeria’s trends list.

In his tweets, Wizkid belittled Don Jazzy as an ‘influencer’ and ridiculed Davido for a leaked video where he was seen in a vulnerable state.

Celebrities like Cubana Chief Priest have expressed their disapproval of Wizkid’s disrespectful behavior towards these music icons.
