Arriving at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday night, Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o made a stunning statement by adorning herself in over $3.5 million worth of diamonds.
The 37-year-old Oscar-winning actress opted for a custom black and white Louis Vuitton gown embellished with 32,000 sequins and crystals, created by Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. It took more than 106 hours to craft the gown, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
In addition to the dazzling gown, Lupita adorned herself with $3.5 million worth of Forevermark diamonds, including ‘statement chandelier earrings’ from the Forevermark Black Label Collection with a total of 32.78 carats of diamonds.
Among her jewelry pieces were three rings from Forevermark, Forevermark by Rahaminov, and Forevermark by Premier Gem, totaling 23 carats of diamonds, as well as two bracelets with over 33 carats of diamonds from Forevermark and Forevermark by Rahaminov.
Despite her jaw-dropping ensemble, Lupita was nominated for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor In A Lead Role for ‘Us’, but eventually lost to actress Renée Zellweger for her role in ‘Judy’.
