Long Beach police probe alleged online threats by former law enforcement officers toward Black Lives Matter activist, Shawn King

The alleged online threats made by former law enforcement officers towards Black Lives Matter activist Shawn King in Long Beach, California are being investigated by the police.

Troubling posts shared in a private Facebook group allegedly for California Law Enforcement Officers show members of the group making plans to harm Shawn King and expressing their hatred for Black Lives Matter activists and liberals. The group seems to include individuals who appear to be White Supremacists.

One of those who threatened Shawn King’s life is a retired Long Beach Police officer Laura Tartaglione. Several other members of the group also expressed their intentions to harm Shawn King, including planning his assassination.

Screenshots of the plans made by law enforcement officers to harm Shawn King have been made public and Shawn King has responded to the threats, expressing concern about the lack of confidence in law enforcement to handle the situation.

The Long Beach Police Department, along with the FBI, have stated that a team is investigating the case and have expressed their shock and dismay at the content of the posts. It has been confirmed that the individuals connected to the alleged threats are former officers who left the Long Beach Police Department in the past, and there is no evidence indicating the involvement of current employees in the situation.
