Local Government Chairman in Kogi State Abducted by Gunmen

Gunmen have kidnapped Zacchaeus Michael, the caretaker chairman of the Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State.

Confirmation of the incident came from the state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, on Saturday.

According to Aya, the abduction took place on Friday night along Kabba-Okene Road in Kabba.

He stated, “The state Commissioner of Police, Bethrand Onuoha, has mobilized officers for a search-and-rescue operation. We are actively addressing the situation,”

Sources, who preferred to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the issue, indicated that Michael and some of his aides were taken captive.

One source mentioned, “The reports suggest that the CTC Kabba/Bunu Chairman, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, and a few of his aides were abducted by gunmen on the Kabba-Okene Expressway in Kabba.

“Efforts are underway to gather any reliable information that could facilitate their safe release.

“Let us all pray for their swift and secure return, seeking divine intervention and protection in this critical period.”
