Liverpool secures Arthur Melo on season-long loan from Juventus

The transfer of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo to Liverpool on a season-long loan has been finalized.

Liverpool paid a loan fee of £3.9m to secure the services of the 26-year-old midfielder, with an option to purchase the player for £32million at the end of the loan period.

‘We had extensive discussions, and our ideas and visions aligned, so I am confident it was the right decision,’ said the Brazilian.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was eager to bolster the midfield following injuries to Jordan Henderson, Thiago, and Naby Keita.

Having previously played for Barcelona, Arthur Melo joined Juventus in 2020 for £70million, as part of a deal that involved Miralem Pjanic moving in the opposite direction for £60million.
