Liverpool Legend Disagrees with Osimhen’s Possible Move to Chelsea

The idea of Victor Osimhen joining Chelsea on loan is being heavily criticized by former Liverpool player, Steve Nicol.

Nicol strongly opposes the potential move of the Nigerian star to Stamford Bridge on a temporary deal.

A report by David Ornstein suggested that Napoli and Chelsea are discussing a deal involving Osimhen moving on loan to Chelsea while Romelu Lukaku makes a permanent switch to Napoli.

Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has denied this speculation.

According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Osimhen would only consider a loan move to Chelsea if there is an obligation to buy clause included.

Speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol expressed his disbelief at the rumored move and explained his stance.

“I find it hard to understand – Osimhen commits to a new contract to show loyalty to his club and then ends up on loan at Chelsea? It doesn’t seem logical from Osimhen’s perspective.

“In football, things can change rapidly. You could go on loan and suddenly face an injury or a rough patch, turning your world upside down.

“The idea of a potential loan caught me off guard. While it may benefit both clubs financially, I wouldn’t recommend a loan move if I were Osimhen. The man is a talented player.”
